25th Anniversary of GoodFellas - released on the 21st September 1990

When Martin Scorsese, one of the world’s most skillful and respected directors, reunited with two-time Oscar-winner Robert De Niro in GoodFellas, the result was one of the most powerful films of 1990.

The true story of Henry Hill (Ray Liotta), a half-Irish, half-Sicilian Brooklyn kid who is adopted by neighborhood gangsters at an early age and climbs the ranks of a Mafia family.

Based on the true-life bestseller, Wiseguy, and backed by a dynamic pop/rock oldies soundtrack, GoodFellas was a hit with both critics and movie-goers alike, and received six Academy Award nominations, including “Best Picture” and “Best Director” (and a win for Joe Pesci’s astounding performance).

The explosive cast, aside from De Niro, Pesci and Liotta, includes Lorraine Bracco (in her Oscar-nominated performance) and Paul Sorvino. You have to see it to believe it—then watch it again—as Goodfellas explores the criminal life like no other film ever has.
